Welcome back to another year of music making and, of course, the season to celebrate Canadian Contemporary Music! We’re very excited to be able to offer our Showcase in-person once again for 2024. We are so proud of the contribution our Showcase has made to the Calgary music community as we celebrate over thirty years in operation! We offer a platform for 200 or more performers to present the music of Canadian composers, and we couldn’t do it without you! We hope you will consider donating to this year’s festival.
In 2023, we were able to recognize over 50 students with an honorarium and complimentary tickets to a local concert. Our students are regular winners of the national scholarship scheme through the ACNMP, such as the Ann Southam National Award and the Mary Hildebrand Memorial Award for Performance Excellence. These students are recognized and supported in their musical pursuits because of donors like you.
We are a non-profit organization, which is run through the efforts of volunteers. The Contemporary Showcase is dedicated to encouraging performers, composers, and audiences for the future. Through our annual, non-competitive festival, we hope to increase the awareness of contemporary Canadian music as well as promote the works of Canadian composers.
